The inscriptions on the Taylor bells are copies of those composed for the 1798 Mears bells by James Wilding, Master of High Ercall Grammar School, member of the Union Society and subscriber to 'Clavis'.
The inscriptions on the Whitechapel bells were composed by Wendy Gough of Maesbrook, occasional member of the band at St Chad's.
